LEDA’s 2022 Annual Celebration is coming up soon on May 12! We are excited to see everyone in person once again and toast LEDA’s successes. Every year, LEDA recognizes an Alumni Honoree who has demonstrated exceptional leadership while embodying LEDA’s four Core Values – Excellence, Integrity, Compassion, and Community. This year, we are proud to recognize Brittany Hardy for her work in the world of diplomacy shows the importance of empowering talented young leaders with diverse perspectives in a world that is becoming ever more interconnected.
Brittany was born in Gary, IN, and grew up in Indiana and Arizona. She became a LEDA Cohort 5 Scholar in 2009, then went on to graduate from Princeton University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Religion and minors in African American Studies and Spanish. She received her Master in Public Diplomacy at the University of Southern California in 2016.
Passionate about public service, Brittany joined the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer after graduation. During her tenure there, she served in Brazil, Mexico, and Washington, D.C., in both consular and public diplomacy roles.
Now based in Atlanta, GA, Brittany recently joined Google as a Senior Policy Specialist supporting the Global Policy and Standards Knowledge & Insights team. At Google, she focuses on the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa regions, providing knowledge and insights about particular subject matters and cultures within her regional specialization to help develop more effective, enforceable, culturally-aware, and inclusive policies.
